Rooted Farmers

CHALLENGE

Rooted is an online cut flower marketplace that connects organic farmers with local customers. We created an app version of their platform to take this startup to the next level.

One of the biggest challenges was conveying the essential information (picture, stem length, color, vase life, quantity, and price) at a glance, since farmers may need to reference this information on-the-go or while harvesting. I prioritized the image, since the flower industry is highly visual, and made editing easily accessible directly from the card.

I also learned that florists may have different relationships with their farmers - while some are trusted with in-person pickups, others are not. When making the checkout flow, I divided up the order by farm to enable different delivery dates and methods.
